Blood and urine test

At Mjay Santé, we provide fast, convenient blood and urine testing in a comfortable, patient-focused environment. Most private insurance plans cover diagnostic laboratory testing up to an annual limit. Following your appointment, we will provide an official receipt that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

What you need to know

Blood test

Blood tests can be used for several reasons: they help diagnose diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, among others.

They can also be used for paternity testing.

It's important to know that while blood tests can indicate your risk for heart disease or other health problems, other confirmatory tests are often needed to diagnose many conditions. It's essential to consult your doctor.

It is important to bring a copy of the blood test request (prescription) you received from your doctor to your appointment. If you do not have a blood test requisition, call us at

514 665-8422.

Fasting before your blood test

We understand that fasting before a blood test can be difficult, but it's important to follow your healthcare provider's instructions. Typically, fasting is required for tests like fasting blood glucose, which measures blood sugar to detect diabetes or pre diabetes. Your doctor will tell you how long you should fast before your blood test, and it's important to follow these instructions to ensure accurate results.

What to expect

We will provide you with a container to collect your sample. We recommend collecting a small amount of urine from the toilet bowl before collecting the sample. Your sample will then be sent to our laboratory for analysis, and the results will be forwarded to the requester.

Our team of certified professionals will collect the urine sample and send it to our laboratory for analysis. You will be required to sign our form authorizing the release of results to the requester. Test results will only be released with your written consent.

Urine Analysis

Urinalysis can help your doctor diagnose medical problems, determine their cause, and/or monitor your health related to a stroke, including the presence of blood clots, urinary tract infections, urinary bleeding, kidney disease, or liver disease.

It can also be used for diabetes, certain blood diseases, bladder stones and other metabolic diseases.

A urine test may also be ordered for a pregnancy test and to check your levels of proteins, sugars, chemicals, certain bacteria, their acidity or alkalinity, as well as your hormones.
